Koji-san was quite awesome. He spoke great English and really helped us navigate up to the top of the Fushimi Inari mountain. He was young to middle aged and in great shape for going up the steps. He took us off the normal path a few times to show us some pearls. No great Koyo viewing around there, but we really did it to enjoy the spiritual aspect of climbing to the top. After, we went to the Tofukuji Temple and walked over the outer bridge for beautiful pics of Koyo. Last, lunch at Kyoto station.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you so much for your great review on me, Jeremy. The praline candy really goes well with nice black coffee and became one of my favorite sweets! Koji
A fantastic day was spend with Koji. We must have walked over 10kms but would do it again with Koji. He was so professional, friendly and very personable. With a few questions from Koji he tailored a tour to suit our needs. The trek up to the shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha was impressive and at a pace that suited us. Thank you Koji for spending the time with us and making it memorable. Definitely recommend Koji to anybody- he was so full of local information and even showed us how to order Ramen noodles.

Could not have found a better guide! I was unexpectedly ill but Koji saved the day and took my older teen son for the day on his own. They had a great time - a bit of history/culture and plenty of fun visiting manga shops and food markets.
Mr Koji was an excellent guide, proving to me once again that the reviews on the toursbylocal website are highly reliable. I brought a two year old toddler on this trip and being a father to two kids, Mr Koji was willing to (and knew how to) accommodate the young one. There was never an awkward moment and we enjoyed chatting with him through the half day trip. Thank you Mr Koji!

Koji was everything that you would ever want in a guide. He was so kind, knowledgeable, sensitive to the needs and pace of the group, and remarkably funny. I left wishing that our tour could stretch for a few more days. I would love to recommended him to anyone visiting Kyoto!
