We had the most spectacular day in London with Barry! We covered a lot of sights in just one day. The Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park. We also walked through Piccadilly Circus and saw the Christmas lights all throughout the shopping district. We had a lovely fish and chips lunch. Throughout the day together, Barry provided excellent historical commentary and educational tidbits. He is very friendly and has a great personality. Best guide ever!!!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Dear Saba You and your family are delightful. It was a privilege to guide you around. London is a special city but even more so at Christmas time. I look forward to our meeting up again! Thanks for such a spectacular review!

Barry was fantastic! Hit all the obvious spots in London the first part of the day so that our new people to London in the group could get a feel for the big stuff. Then we got into the alleyways, parks, and nooks that really took us deeper into London. The stories and the adventure were top notch. We will use Barry again, and I can't recommend him more highly.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for your great comments Charlie. It was fun to meet your group and see some London major highlights. Quite dark when we finished at Charterhouse ( once occupied by Carthusian monks!) in Clerkenwell. We were only just beginning on “ the nooks and crannies”! However November is late Autumn and darkness closes in early! This area is really off the “ beaten” track but the history around there stretches back 1000 years. Do come back and I can show you so much more. Thanks for using me!

Fantastic guide, very accommodating, informative, and patient. Barry took 3 of us, ages 20-80, on a private day to Oxford and Cotswolds and we could not have asked for a better tour or guide. He is worth the upgrade.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for your kind comments Andrew. It was nice to meet you and your family. Your Mom was good company and handled everything so well.
Barry is extremely knowledgeable about London Tower and the the bridge and are there. Enjoyed our time him and learning about the history of the tower. Thank you.

We were disappointed that no one pointed out that St. Paul's Cathedral wasn't open for a tour on Sunday because of services. Tower of London tour was good.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Sorry that you felt let down on this Nydia. I offered to explain in detail about the Church in detail from the outside of St Pauls Cathedral and suggested you attend the free evensong service enabling an internal visit. If you come back to London in the future I will do the St Pauls Tour for no charge.

Barry is more than a 5. We give him a 10. We toured with Barry over two days and he brought the history to life. The days were well thought out and he knew when we needed to stop for a spot of tea. Many thanks!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you Joy and John! The weather was good and it seems that you got some insights into London as I had hoped. Enjoy the remainder of your vacation and if you do return at some future point in time do look me up. There is so much more both inside and outside of London to explore. Best wishes Barry

Barry was awesome! Very knowledgeable and informative. It was a great way to spend the day and we enjoyed getting a chance to know Barry and learn about London. Highly recommend Barry to anyone looking for a nice tour of London
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Stephen Thanks for the review. I seem to recall we “packed” in as much as possible! I have the abiding memory of hurriedly putting you and your wife on the “ rather crowded “Tube” to Heathrow and saying goodbye as the doors quickly closed. I hope you had an equally good time on your boat cruise. All the best Barry

Barry did a great job with our tour of Windsor Castle, very knowledgable and informative. He was most kind in dealing with our two grandchildren, which they did not always make easy. Highly recommended!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for your review Stanley. Caleb and Casey Mae are delightful children. I wish I had that much personality at 7 years old! By the way .,,.we saw “ The Jurors” sculpture at Runnymede. The chairs celebrate 800 years of justice and freedom ( 2015) inspired by Magna Carta sealed in 1215 somewhere close by. The chairs invite you to sit and think. Best wishes to you and your wife!

Barry did a wonderful job of taking our family of five around London and beyond for three days. He is incredibly knowledgeable of English history in general and local attractions in particular. We had fun talking about everything British including history, local celebrities, and TV shows. He was prepared to show us anything we were interested in and we all learned a bunch while having lots of fun.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: You chose the hottest day of the year for London (around 96F) and the Buckingham Palace Guards still marched! Thanks so much for your many interesting questions and interest in Hampton Court, Hever Castle,Oxford and Cotswolds. It is good to know that you enjoyed the itinerary. Best wishes and I hope your journey home was smooth from London to the U.S.

Barry H is like having your own personal grandfather like Londoner businessman & historian turned guide. Walks perfect speed not too fast nor too slow. Knows when to suggest short breaks and helps extract most efficient use of time. Local Knowledge base is deep as well. Highly recommended with no hesitation. Will use again. Really enriched our day trip to Oxford without question.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: It was a very interesting day for me too Robert. I learnt so much more about C S Lewis, his career, and life at Magdelen in Oxford. You have a lovely family and I enjoyed talking to your children. Thank you for your thoughtful comments and I wish you all well for the future. I am sure your daughter will have a great medical career

Barry was very well versed on almost every question we asked, and was very accommodating to our needs. We had a small group ranging from 14 to late 70's - He was very accomodating in terms of both personal needs and tastes for food and physical capabilities, as well as personal interests in what we wanted to see and do. Barry not only provided a great tour for the multiple days we had him, but provided information and insight into things we could do when we were on our own. Berry is TERRIFIC!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Dear Dave and Jane It was a privilege to be your tour guide. You have a wonderful family and were great company. Thanks again for the job and I am so glad that you all enjoyed yourselves. All the best and hope to see you again sometime. Barry

In life, reality rarely meets expectations but our tour with Barry certainly did. Based on our requests, he developed a high level plan prior to our arrival, and then was able to fine tune each day. He proved himself to not only be a very knowledgeable guide, but also a true English gentleman and a delightful travel companion. We highly recommend Barry for an enjoyable and worthwhile visit to the UK.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Dear Pat It was a real pleasure to take you and your wife around some of London and then the English Countryside. There are ways to get to know how amazing, beautiful and varied it is! It seems I succeeded! There really are surprises around every corner. I hope you enjoyed the remainder of your holiday and investigating the Norwegian Fjords. Barry

Barry was an excellent guide. My friend & I asked so many questions & he was patient, kind and very knowledgeable. He gave us the freedom to tailor make the tour to what we wanted to see and was very personable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with him and feel like we have a new friend.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Wendy Thank you for your oh so very kind words. I enjoyed our discussions and hope you and “the other Wendy” found what you were looking for in “ Winston Churchill’s” cigar shop in St James. I do think it has a very fine display of pipes for smoking!

Barry was an excellent guide! My husband and I traveled with our two daughters ages 13 and 18. We spent most of our time with Barry traveling outside of the city and exploring the beautiful countryside. Barry is so knowledgeable and offered wonderful suggestions and options to tailor the days to be just what we wanted. He was always ready for more or ready to let us have a little rest if we wanted that! While we love travel and have spent time with tour guides in many places, we found Barry to be ab

Barry was a wonderful and entertaining guide. Arrived on time and had contracted a wonderful,, safe and friendly driver. He as very knowledgeable and spoke clearly and loud enough that even our hard of hearing group could understand him. He went out of his way to facilitate our connecting for lunch with our friend in Oxford. I believe anyone would enjoy a tour with Barry.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Dear Joan Thanks so much for taking time to review the day. I had a great day with you, your husband and friends. You were all clearly very knowledgeable yourselves which made for great conversation! I loved the proposed childrens book about “ Angel” the horse. The illustrations were delightful. When it is published I wish to buy one! Hope the rest of your vacation was really good too. Do let me know about the book!

Barry is a wonderful guide and worked so well with us to see and do what interested us. He enabled us to get a flavor for the central part of london over 1.5 days and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you Stephanne and Ted. It was a rather wet day but we somehow managed to “dodge” the initial downpour in The V&A, National Gallery, and Borough Market. I am pleased that you liked the introduction to London.

Barry was very knowledgeable, personable, and professional. We were particularly impressed that he ran over on time, without any real concern.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Jay I am so pleased that you all enjoyed yourselves. St Pauls for me is a special place. Look out for TV reporting of the 100 year anniversary of the November 1918 ending of WW1 at The Tower of London. There are thousands of torches in the Moat lit every night up to 11th November
