What you cannot really miss: art, history and handicrafts in Venice and the islands
Would you like to enter the most authentic soul of Venice? This is what I'll get you to reach: an overlook on the main highlights of the city, the Rialto bridge, the elegant palazzi, a stroll around the small typical streets to the market of Rialto. It's then time to catch a waterbus** and go to Burano, the most colourful island of the lagoon. We'll visit an ancient atelier where the local ladies still produce the famous handmade LACE. Another cruise in the lagoon and we arrive in Murano: since the 13th century this island has hosted the glass blowers workshops. After a stroll along its narrow streets I will take you off the beaten paths to one of the hidden and GENUINE glass master's workshop, where we have the opportunity to see how glass is shaped to become a masterpiece.
**During the summer I suggest to go on a private watertaxi as public means of transport are very crowded and there may have no seats available during the 50 minute cruise to Burano
Ask me for a quotation and I'll book a private taxi
Venice has been an independent city-state and the richest Country in Europe for over one thousand years. We'll go along the most peculiar streets to discover how it has become so efficient and wealthy. I will show you the hidden districts where nowadays the Venetians live, the most lively street markets, so as the elegant palaces of the old aristocracy. We will see the St. Mark's square with the Basilica and the Doge's palace, and as well the iconic Rialto Bridge. After a cruise in the lagoon (about 55 minutes) we'll be in Burano to visit a lace laboratory and the typical colored homes along the islands. Again on the vaporetto (the public waterbus) for 40 minutes to Murano, the island of the glass blowing artists. After visiting a real glass factory and learning all the secrets of this fascinating art, we will go back to Venice.

Depending on the weather conditions and the amount of tourists the navigation to the islands may take sometimes longer. When waterbusses are crowded we may have to travel standing. In case of extreme high tide it may be difficult to reach Burano, I'll change the itinerary accordingly and take you to see other typical handicrafts.
