Pick your catch at the Fish Market; explore the Palace, enjoy your catch for lunch!
A unique, private Palace Tour where you get to discover a living 1, 700 year-old city and enjoy a wonderful grilled lunch with the fish that we buy together! Under the watchful eye of my Russian wife (who loves fish more than ice cream!) we'll visit the city's bustling fish market to learn about Adriatic fish. Then, depending on what you like, we will buy the freshest and bring it to an authentic local konoba where it will be cooked to order when we return from our walk. After visiting the bustling fish market, we will tour the Palace and include off the beaten track experiences as well as the Cathedral, Jupiter's Temple and more. A visit to the 3rd oldest synagogue in Europe is included if you wish as well. An authentic immersion into the past and present of this remarkable Old Town. Before our lunch at a charming waterfront bistro, we'll stroll through through the amazingly well preserved Palace substructures Includes private Palace tour, lunch with salad and wine/beverage, all admissions!
We'll be introduced to our guide, then to the Fish Market, followed by our first "surprise" location (an ancient monastery and now the city's only Orthodox Christian church); quick stop at the city's only gourmet bakery; into the Pjaca, through the West Gate. . . inside the Palace now, meandering around to the Peristil, second surprise, the original street and sewerage system; preserved by UNESCO directive (it's inside a shop and a restautant); then inside the Cathedral, Jupiter's Temple; behind the Cathedral to the Emperor's living area; the Vestibul, quick peek into a hotel carved out of history; see the hidden West Wall; Jewish Synagogue (3rd oldest in Europe) if you wish; to the North gate, the small Papalic palace; then into the basement to see how this amazing place stayed in one piece for all these years. Lunch!

Robert was friendly, intelligent and fun , and the local guide who accompanied him was highly informative and pleasant. The 8 of us enjoyed the tour immensely. To us, the small private tour seems far superior to a cruise tour and well worth the money.
