The legend says that Sorrento was founded by the Greeks, the history that was destroyed by the Romans. . .
Today is one of the most famous villages of the South Italy known for the landscape, the little shops and for the limoncello.

Pompeii is one of the "must to see" for anyone loves history and archaeology. This city was buried in the 79 A. D. and was rediscovered only 17 centuries later.

Itinerary

A walking tour in Sorrento where we will see:
- the amazing panorama from the public garden,
- the cloister of Saint Francis that date back to the XIV century,
- the "Sedil Dominova" a kind of assembly hall used by the nobility in the Middle Ages.
We will walk from the characteristic via San Cesareo to the Cathedral and I'll show you the details of buildings with more then 700 years old. Sometimes it's possible to ricognize ancient architectonic elements from the roman time reintegrated in the "new buildings".

Transfer by Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii
Light lunch stop in Pompeii or Sorrento (optional)

In Pompeii we will see in detail the most important public buildings: the area of the Theaters, a Sacred area, the public Thermal baths, the Forum (main square) and all its surroundings. At the end I'll explain and show you the incredible technique to obtain the plaster casts of the victims of the eruption.

A Recent Review of this tour

Roberto was wonderful! He made our trip to Pompeii so memorable. Since he is very familiar with the site, he was able to take us to less crowded areas which made it so special. We also visited Sorrento which was beautiful and now I know I want to go back to that area. Roberto has such a great wealth of knowledge and shared it with our family. If I ever go back to this region I will have him show me around more.
