Panama Viejo, Casco Viejo and Modern City
Visit the "three" Panama cities: Panama Viejo (ruins of the 15th century original city), Casco Viejo (the colonial city), and the modern skyscraper city. Enjoy spectacular views of the skylines and the entrance to the Panama Canal at the Amador Causeway. Drive through the Cinta Costera and visit a must see wonder of modern engineering at the Panama Canal Miraflores Visitors Center.
We pick you up at your hotel, airport or cruise port. We start the day visiting the ruins of the first city on the Pacific Coast of the Americas. Panama Viejo was used as a transit route for all the treasures from the Inca empire on their way across the isthmus to Portobelo, on Panama's Atlantic Coast and then by ship to the Old World. At Casco Viejo Historic District, we will visit the Church of the Golden Altar, the Flat Arch, Plaza Herrera, Plaza Bolivar and walk the oceanside promenade of the French Plaza. At the Amador Causeway we will enjoy spectacular views of the city skyline and the entrance of the Panama Canal. Next we will visit the Panama Canal at Miraflores Locks. You will be returned to your Hotel, airport or port of departure on time.

My wife and I had a great day learning about the old city and new city of Panama with Mario. He modified his normal schedule for this tour to accommodate our interests and did a great job of interacting with us. We were delighted with his courteous and sensitive approach to his time with us ! Highly recommended !
