Let's step into a city with more than 2.000 years of history.
Founded by the Romans in the 2nd century B. C. , Palma is a little town on the Western Mediterranean Sea that goes unnoticed by many visitors every year. People stroll by its streets, they shop in its commercial areas and they take pictures from anything their eyes can reach. However, the true Palma stills hidden for them.
Join me on this private tour and I will discover a town with more than two thousand years of history for you! Be part of a journey through time to get an insight into Palma's past. Romans, Moors, Christians, Jews, military orders, kings, monks, nuns, aristocrats, ladies, liars, murderers, conspirators, pirates, brave sailors, men of letters, philosophers, plain civilians… all of them were part of the same chess board. We will meet the most remarkable places, personalities and stories that made a difference in this town.
Some say history is a boring thing. Let me prove it can be a thrilling experience!
We will explore Palma's Old Town while we discover the most important institutions of the city during the Middle Ages (the old University, the first parish church built in town, the Arabian Citadel, the Merchant Guild's Headquarters, the Royal Dockyard, the Bishop's Palace, the Maritime Consulate, the Cathedral). The higlights and the subjects of the tour are flexible and they can be adapted to your personal interests.
Meeting Point + Tour Duration
Meeting Point Options: Rail or Bus Station, Hotel, Suggested by Guide: How to get to Parc de la Mar: you need to take the shuttle bus from the cruise ship to the city center. The shuttle leaves you next to a breakwater called Escollera. Once you get off the bus, you go towards the Cathedral (the Cathedral is really huge and it will be in front of you as you get off the shuttle, so there is no way you miss it). Then, you cross the motorway by the pedestrian crossing and... that is it! The esplanade with an artificial lake you will see before you is Parc de la Mar.

Our walking tour with Albert through Palma was very informative and interesting. He is so knowledgeable and was very patient when we would ask questions. I loved his sense of humor. He obviously loves his subject matter, which makes all the difference. The tour made me want to visit again, which says it all.
