A varied and flexible tour linking two of the most beautiful National Parks in England. On this tour you know you are in the North of England as a whole new language emerges as the landscape changes to sweeping moorlands, quiet Dales and remote villages. On this tour you can sample the famous Wensleydale Cheese from the land of Wallace and Gromit, take short walks to waterfalls, visit historic castles and abbeys before reaching the city of York. The tour departs the Lake Distict and soon reaches the limestone uplands of the Yorkshire Dales at Ribblehead Viaduct. Lots of photo opportunities amidst the famous Three Peaks before descending to the market town of Hawes and Wensleydale Creamery where we can sample the delicious varieties of Wensleydale Cheese.
A short walk - through a pub - to Hardraw Force the largest single drop waterfall in England and you can walk behind it! Over Buttertubs pass to Swaledale and visit remote villages and wild moorland. Options to visit Castles such as Castle Bolton or Middleham, visit the Black Sheep Brewery for some local ale or Jervaulx Abbey where the original method of making Wensleydale cheese originated.
If you prefer more time in York we spend less on sightseeing and reach York early afternoon for a guided walk along the city walls and ancient alleys, passageways or 'snickleways' that offer an insight into 'hidden York'.

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. Our guide, Andy, was friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and he even laughed at our jokes. The route he took us on and the stops he suggested made our trip through the Yorkshire Dales everything we had hoped it would be. Great fun.
