8 hours | private walking + public transport tour of Hong Kong

If you really want to know Hong Kong and I mean really know Hong Kong then book a premium private tour with Jamie today. .

You can simply book this tour as described note that my premium tours are fully customisable I can do special requests, you can let me know in advance or simply let me know when we meet and will let you know if your custom itinerary is feasible within the time frame of the tour

Please refer to the itinerary section for a more detailed explanation.

Please note that I do NOT do car tours or food tours. Hong Kong has the best public transport in the world and it is far quicker to walk and to use air conditioned public transport

I give you the REAL Hong Kong with adult conversation and a genuine local perspective rather than telling you fluffy nonsense!| I can customise this tour for you, start time, no. of people, no. of hours, price etc for booking purposes.

Itinerary

For 8 hours we will explore Hong Kong Island and Kowloon | Jewish people in Hong Kong go right back to the start of modern Hong Kong in 1841 and I can incorporate Jewish History + Sites into this 8 hour tour, you can be sure of a trip to Victoria Peak on Hong Kong Island, the Jewish connection is amazing!

My premium private Jewish Cultural | Heritage Tours can be 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 hour tours. | If you wish to visit the fabulous Ohel Leah Synagogue please let me know in advance.

Generally most of my Jewish Guests are quite happy for elements of Jewish culture to be woven into my normal tours rather than a specific (for example) 8 hour intense tour!, in fact there is not enough Jewish Culture to cover an 8 hour tour, even a 6 hour tour just covers elements. . . .

Generally speaking, most of my clients leave the tour itinerary to me due to my vast experience and the fact I have lived in Hong Kong for 48 years and done over 2, 300 Private Tours since 2011

Meeting Point + Tour Duration

Meeting Point Options: Rail or Bus Station, Cruise Ship Port, Airport, Hotel, Address or Intersection, Monument/Building

Duration: 8 hours

Transportation

This is a walking tour but we also use public transport to get from place to place if and when required, Hong Kong probably has the best public transport system of any city worldwide, it really adds to the tour experience!

We do walk at at a pace to allow for conversation and in hotter weather, plenty of rest stops, I am not known for rushing around

What’s Included

  • Guiding Services

Other: Me, Jamie the most experienced and highly rated private tour guide in Hong Kong, having lived in Hong Kong since I was 11 years old, I know the place.

I pay for my share of food and transportation, however you need to read my what's extra section for a detailed description.

After the tour and if you are in Hong Kong for more than one day I can send to you my very highly rated Self Guided Tours, they cover all the great things to do and see in Hong Kong and come with very detailed instructions on how to get there using pubic transport and little image attachments to ensure you do not get lost!

I am the pioneer of self guided tours in Hong Kong, introducing them in 2011 | all part of my 5 star service..

Estimated Local Cash Needed

300 HK$ - This is a per person amount - It is always a good idea to carry a decent amount of local cash ie HK$ with you, a good supply of HK$10 and HK$20 notes + if you can get them HK$1, HK$2 and HK$5 coins. You can use this for transport, snacks, souvenirs etc. Most markets in Hong Kong take cash only.

Most shops and restaurants accept credit cards but many older smaller restaurants accept cash only.

What’s Extra

  • Personal Expenses
  • Souvenirs
  • Public Transportation Tickets
  • Food, Drinks, Snacks

Other: The cost of any public transport such as taxi, buses, minibuses, ferries, trams, The Peak Tram, The MTR, Airport Express etc.

Drinks / Snacks / Meals / Souvenirs, etc.

Entrance fees (where applicable) into museums, parks etc. the cost of these is usually minimal and in many cases free (with the exception of Ocean Park and Disneyland!)

For convenience I absolutely recommend purchasing an OCTOPUS CARD available from any MTR Station, it will cost you HK$150 including a refundable deposit and you can top it up at any convenience store, this card can be used on all public transport options (except Taxies and Yellow minibuses) and you can use them at 7 - 11 and Circle K Convenience Stores, Supermarkets, Starbucks, McDonald's etc. It can save you a lot of time and hassle even if you are here for just a couple of days.

*It is hot and humid for 5 months of the year so remember to wear appropriate footwear/clothing.

A Recent Review of this tour

Jamie is punctual, unbelievably well-organized, efficient, down to earth and a pleasure to tour with! Jamie is the one to tour with when visiting Hong Kong! The synagogue visit on Victoria Island should not be missed!
