Visit historic places
Kazimierz was once created as a separate town just connected with Kraków by two bridges. Not only was it inhabited by the Jews but also by the Christians. It is a very unique place where these two religions were living together. During the WWII the Jews were moved to the getto created on the opposite side of the Wisła river. Just about 500 m from this area there is the schindler's factory that is nowadays a museum showing occupation of Kraków.
During this tour you can learn more about the jewish culture and history in Kraków
We start our tour in Plac Wolnica - a part of the Main Market Square of the town. It is worth seeing the gothic Corpus Cristi church situated on the corner of Plac Wolnica. Then we go to see the courtyard that was used by Steven Spielberg in few scenes of his famous film. The tour continues through New Square, near Izaak's synagogue and Kupa synagogue to Szeroka Street. This was the main square of the Jewish part of Kazimierz and the only street in Europe with four synagogues. Most of them survived till now. Among them Remuh synagogue that stands near the old kirkut - jewish cemetery. The old Synagogue on the opposite side of the street Nowadays hosts the exhibition of jewish culture and religion.
Then we cross the Vistula river to see the district of Podgórze. This was the place were Nazis created the getto during WWII . The most important places here are: the square of the Heroes of the Getto, The Pharmacy under the Eagle, remnants of the wall of the getto and the Oscar Schinler's factory.

Anna is an excellent guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. My family and I very much appreciated the knowledge Anna shared with us on our tour through kazimierz (Jewish district) and getto, which was reinforced at the Schindler Museum, where without her guidance we could easily have become overwhelmed by so much information. Although the Museum is not actually Schindler's factory, anyone truly interested in history will find a visit there most valuable. You will not regret hiring Anna as your guide!
