Tread where the 8th century Vikings first landed & revel in the splender of Alnwick Castle (Hogwarts)
Following the North sea, across the border and into England lies the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
Home to very early Christianity & where in AD793 for the first time, the Viking long boats slid onto the shores and changed history forever.
Holy Island is a beautiful village community with lovely coastal walks meandering around the very imposing 16th century Lindisfarne Castle, which sits on a rocky outcrop overlooking the North Sea.
Next stop is Alnwick Castle. A classic , stunning English Castle thats been the back drop for many movies & TV shows including Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Downton Abbey and most famously Hogwarts in Harry Potter!!!
You can even take part in Broom Stick Training whilst attending a class at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. Its hilarious and a must for any Potter fans young and old.
The first parts of this Castle were built in 1096 !!!!
A fun packed day tour with plenty of time at each stop to really absorb the history, legends and magic of this great day.
Departing at 9am we travel the beautiful coast line of East Scotland, passing Berwick Upon Tweed and across the border into England.
Lindisfarne is our first stop and the journey to this island is very special. You can feel the history here and the small local community are very welcoming.
Next stop is Alnwick Castle! This castle has everything and really merges history and visitor attraction perfectly.
Numerous restaurants, art, history , modern culture like Harry Potter as well as many other tv shows, movies etc etc
Britains largest tree house is here, Dragon Quest (great for the kids) and even the most expensive piece of furniture in the world is here at the home of The Duke of Northumberland.
Alnwick Castle gardens are spectacular and even has a "Poison Garden" that has to be toured with a guide as everything in it can potentially kill you !!!!!
