The force of Nature
During the eighteenth century in Lanzarote took place one of the most important volcanic eruptions in the history of mankind over the past 500 years. From 1730 to 1736 the island suffered eruptions which practically devastated a large area of the south part of Lanzarote. That together with the very slow evolutionary process of this part of the island we are left with one of the most spectacular volcanic landscapes on the planet. An outdoor geological museum unique in this world.
On our hike we'll discover the reasons for the visual landscape, the types of eruptions, volcanoes, lava flows, volcanic tunnels. . . Awaiting us is a fascinating journey through the savage terrain of Lanzarote. We are given also the opportunity to observe the rebirth of life in this fragile ecosystem.

Our group of 4 went on a nice volcano hike. I had a backpack with me (which he didn't want me to leave in the car because of possible theft) and he graciously carried it for me during the hike. When one of us was uncomfortable with all the walking, he changed the tour and brought us to a great winery. Jose was very enthusiastic and loved talking about his island. We found him extremely interesting. When I left my Ipads in his car by mistake, he brought them all the way back to our ship from his home.
