A day trip from Toronto to Ivy Lea at Thousand Islands & Kingston
For guests who want to see one of the most beautiful spots in Southern Ontario, this tour is a perfect choice.
Departing from Toronto (different pickup points are available) we are visiting Ivy Lea in the Thousand Islands Region at the Western end of the St. Lawrence River, (approximately 290 kilometers from Toronto) where more than thousand pieces of land are scattered between Ontario and New York. With a one-hour boat cruise (departing from Ivy Lea, no landing) you will see the historic and legendary Boldt Castle with its tragic past, the Thousand Island Bridge, the landmark of the region and hear the amazing stories about the region including "underwater". We will stop at Kingston once the provincial capital of Ontario, aka "Limestone City" with the beautiful City Hall, Queen University, Fort Henry and Royal Military College of Canada. A place with a rich maritime and military history.
Upon request, a dinner can be added at a winery at the Prince Edward County.
Departure from the Greater Toronto Area in the morning.
Arrival in Ivy Lea, (3. 5-hour drive from Toronto. ), where you will have a one-hour boat tour (no landing). During this tour, you will see the historic Boldt Castle, the Town of Alexandria (NY) and the Thousand Island Bridge. Your guide may join you to give explanations about the geography and history of the Thousand Island Region.
In the afternoon, arrival in Downtown Kingston. You will have two hours of free time for discovering the historic city center with an optional (no extra cost) tour inside the City Hall. Your guide will also take to Fort Henry and Bellvue House, two historic places in town.
Departure to Toronto in the late afternoon. (an approximately three-hour drive).
