Delicatessen picks and bites in downtown Budapest
If you love your stomach do not miss this tour. Hungarian food is exciting and delicious, so why not taste as many dishes as you can? Gulyas, langos, strudel, winter salami, pancake, palinka and froccs are just some of the foods and drinks which are waiting for you. In the meantime we will also discover the city and talk to the locals in the market. A lot of fun and a full stomach is guaranteed!! Also in the end I will provide you with recipe of the real Hungarian gulyas and teach you how to cook it, so you can prepare it at home.
The Grand Market Hall of Budapest was voted the best market in Europe by the CNN travel, so if you want to visit it with a local, grab the chance and book this tour.
***This tour is conducted by Public transport. Private transportation can be arranged up to your request. If you prefer to have a private car or Van, 'Ask a question' and I'll provide full quotation for your tailor-made experience of Budapest***
On the tour we will visit:
The GREAT MARKET HALL - voted as the best market of Europe - taste langos, strudel, gulyas, winter salami and everything that makes us fat :-) We can also chat with the locals who are doing their daily shopping there.
Traditional BUTCHER store - eat some grilled sausage or black pudding with crispy white bread, mustard and pickles, which can be made from practically any vegetables.
A HISTORIC COFFEE HOUSE - Budapest was called the 'Paris of the east' with 400 coffee houses counted in 1900. Let's visit on of them and learn about the culture and history by a coffee and cake
Typical Hungarian Pub or RUIN BAR - have you ever tasted palinka, the strong fruit brandy? Or tried Unicum, the special bitter drink? Do you know what fröccs or spritzer is? You will find out about all of these in one of the best bars of Europe
Of course along the way I will tell you all about the sights, history and anything that interests you, so we can call this a 2-in-1 tour
