countryside paradise of art craft and fashion
Caruaru is a hinterland city located 130 km from Recife. With a populaton of more than 350 thousand inhabitants, is also known as "The Princess of Agreste" or "The Capital of Forró". Forro is a musical and dance style popular in the Brazilian Northeast.
Is also famous for its fair. A huge area dedicated to art crafts, pottery, decoration, clothing and many other products that can be found around the Caruaru Fair's corridors.
Another interesting place to visit is the Alto do Moura, a neighborhood considered by Unesco as the largest center of figurative art in Americas. In there we can visit the Mestre Vitalino's house - a museum dedicated to this famous artist, responsible for the first figurative art's scene in Brazil, back in 1948. His work can be seen in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Caruaru is part of the Fashion Pole of the Agreste, along with other surrounding cities that has in the fashion industry their main economic activity. We'll also visit an outlet mall dedicated to the local fashion products.

1st stop: Rei das Coxinhas (a famous snack house located on the road, half way to Caruaru)
2nd stop: Feira de Caruaru (Caruaru Fair) for shopping
3th stop: lunch (regional food)
4th stop: Alto do Moura - to visit the Mestre Vitalino Museum and a walk around the art craft and pottery shops.
5th stop: Polo Caruaru (Fashion Mall) (2 hours)
