Experience the best wineries in Kosovo
Kosovo is known as a country of producing good wine, while Rahovec is the center of wine production in Kosovo. Artifacts in the town of Rahovec trace the wine making in this region back to several thousand years, at least 2000. All vineyards of this area lie in hilly terrain at an altitude of 340 to 600 meters. The average 270 days of sunshine each year make Rahovec an ideal spot to produce fine wine . A wine festival takes place in Rahovec annually every September; dates vary each year.
Two main wineries in Kosovo: Winery Bodrumi I Vjetër (Old Cellar) and winery StoneCastle were established in 1953 as agricultural cooperation and main activities were producing wines and alcoholic drinks, but in 2006 during the privatization wineries continued their activities as a private companies.

Bekim was a fantastic and energetic guide for our day of wine-tasting and visiting Prizren. As a group of 4 we had hundreds of questions about politics, history, international relations, customs, religion, food, drink, football and many more topics which we asked non-stop and thanks to Bekim we came to understand a lot more about Kosovo and everything we'd seen and heard during our trip. The wine-tasting itself could be improved, but Prizren was beautiful and we wish we'd had more time there.
