A touch of colour, tradition and history
A visit to two of the most enchanting and historic towns in the Canary Islands, Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava.
In La Orotava we will stroll through the old town centre, with its beautiful churches packed with sacred art and imagery. We will peep inside traditional noble homes which are now the heart of Tenerife's famous craft and drawn linen work.
Puerto is regarded as Spain's original tourist resort although it maintains its old-time charm and our stroll through the pretty town will take us to the busy colourful central plaza, seafront and fishing harbour.
If requested we could also visit the charming Orchid Gardens or stop at a local inn to sample delicious local cuisine.
I will collect you from our meeting point, be it your hotel or port, if you are on a cruise, at 9am or other agreed time. We will then drive to La Orotava to visit the old town centre and the craft centres. We then enjoy a stroll through the old fishing port of Puerto de la Cruz, and, if requested, visit the orchid gardens or take a delicious tapas lunch at one of the port's traditional inns. We will return to your ship at approximately 3pm or earlier if agreed.
Meeting Point + Tour Duration
Meeting Point Options: Cruise Ship Port, Airport, Hotel, Monument/Building
Duration: 6 hours
This tour includes being driven in a private car, hired vehicle or taxi. This will be modern and with a capacity for 6 travellers unless you specially request a larger vehicle for more passengers. The vehicle will be clean and have air conditioning. The tour will include a certain amount of walking, sometimes up and down cobbled, often sloping streets.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
25 Euros - I have only suggested 25€ if you would like to enjoy a tapas lunch at a typical Canary Island inn as well as entrance fee to the orchid gardens.
I am not a mountaineer so would not be able to take clients mountain climbing, for example up the slopes of Mount Teide, but I can, of course, take you on the cable car and walking along the many mountain and coastal tracks in Tenerife.

John was an excellent guide and helped us learn about the history, culture, food and wine of Tenerife. He has a long family history on the island and is a wealth of information on all things pertaining to the Canaries. We would definitely use him again should we visit this lovely place in the future.
