Segovia, Roman and Medieval Heritage
Just one hour away from Madrid, we can have the privilege to visit and authentic jewel. A perfect example of how Spain, its territory, became a crossroads for many cultures and civilizations.
We will be able to contemplate probably the best preserved Roman aqueduct. Since the II century A. D. still standing in perfect conditions!
The Cathedral, the slenderness of its proportions and the Alcazar, a Christian castle totally impregnable, are the landmarks of the medieval and Renaissance time.
We can not forget to mention the experience of trying one of the best dishes of Spanish cuisine, a specialty of Segovia, the sucking pig or "cochinillo".
Don't hesitate to contact me for different options. If you are just a couple or a big party over 10 people different types of transportation can be arranged and prices will vary.
After picking you up at your accommodation place we head north of Madrid crossing the Mountain Range "Guadarrama". After only 1 hour driving we are already in Segovia.
The visit is very flexible and up to you and your interests. My suggestion is to walk from the Aqueduct at the bottom of the city, in a calm pace, to the Plaza Mayor and Cathedral. On the way we can admire examples of architecture from the Romanesque to Baroque.
Afterwards we can follow our steps down to the magnificent Alcazar, a medieval castle and Royal residence for centuries, a "must see" in my opinion.
Different neighborhoods can be visited during our walk with its own personality:for instance the Clergy quarter, the Jewish quarter. You will think you are back to the Middle Ages.
After satisfying our cultural interests, nothing better than trying the local cuisine. Segovia is famous for its dishes which won't disappoint you.
Local handicraft can be bought there also, with plenty of tiny shops in the medieval urban layout.

I plan to refer all my friends visiting Spain to Ernesto and plan on using his services when I'm in Spain next year. Ernesto is a guide I would HIGHLY recommend. We used his services for THREE days on three separate tours. His knowledge of his tours is impressive; its clear he studied art and history. His English is wonderful: Clear, loud and NO PROBLEMS with understanding him. He's clearly bilingual.
