walking tour of the archaeological area with Marisa
I'm an archaeologist and historian: that's why the complex of the Roman Forum/Palatine HIll is my favourite part of the city.
Here you can enter and enjoy a relaxing morning, strolling around the ruins, and you'll be happy to avoid tour groups (mainly interested in the Colosseum).
I've spent years digging in the Roman Forum, and now I'd like to share my love and knowledge with you, for a slow-pace historical walk of the area.
Colosseum is NOT included.
TIPS for a perfect visit:
- Wear comfortably shoes (uneven and dusty floors)
- Bring a bottle of water (you can refill it during the tour)
- the Roman Forum
- The Palace of Emperors on Palatine Hill
- special openings (on request)
Please note that big backpacks, pepper spray and pocketknives are NOT ALLOWED inside the Forum/Palatine Hill. (small backpacks and handbags are OK)

Marisa was a fantastic tour guide. First of all, she went out of her way to help us adjust our tour with her to include a site we were to have visited with another tour company when that tour got canceled. Secondly, she accommodated us when we were running significantly late to due to issues with travel to the meeting place. Finally and most importantly, she gave us a very interesting and informative tour. We went on many tours over the two weeks we were in Italy, and Marisa was our favorite!
