8 hour private tour visiting two World Heritage sites: A-Bomb Dome in Hiroshima Peace Park and Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima
Miyajima Island, one of the three most scenic sites in Japan, is well known for the Great Torii Gate and shrine buildings "floating" in the sea. Meet tame deer and explore narrow alleys. You will discover the island's unique history and taste local delicacies: large grilled oysters, freshly baked maple cakes, Hiroshima lemon flavour gelato and more!
The Atomic Bomb Dome is the only building which remains as it was after the nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. While visiting the park and the museum, you will learn how the citizens picked themselves up from the ruins and rebuilt today's peaceful "City of Water".
From the newly opened Orizuru Tower, you can have a birds-eye view of the Peace Memorial Park. Paper crane making experience to wish world peace will be a perfect ending for the day.
Must-try during your stay in Hiroshima is Okonomiyaki savoury pancake. You can have one for lunch, or I can recommend some restaurants in the area you are staying.

Our family of 4 spent a fantastic day with Aiko! Aiko met us at the train station & we took a train & ferry to Miyajima & the beautiful Itsukushima Shrine. We walked through town & enjoyed a local maple leaf shaped pastry. We then traveled back to Hiroshima and enjoyed a regional dish, Hiroshima okonomiyaki, for lunch. We spent the afternoon visiting the A-Bomb Dome, Hiroshima Peace Park and Museum, and made origami cranes at Orizuru Tower which overlooks the bomb site. We highly recommend Aiko!
