Visually Stimulating Orientation of Prague Castle District & Gardens With Private Guide
A great way to appreciate this small town on a hill! No entry tickets required as you can return for an in-depth tour if needed. Apart from entering St. Vitus Cathedral we take an unusual walking tour through the whole complex ending at the Strahov for a great panorama and a monk's special beer. We pass many palaces, churches, monuments and learn an overview of the history and events. Coffee break in an exclusive palace if desired! A chance to take great photos and see amazing panoramas and gain an in depth appreciation of this historic royal and now presidential complex.
Starting place for the tour can be at the base of the main path up or we can use the tram for those who do not like to walk too far!
This is a visually exciting and varied orientation tour of the main castle complex and gardens. It is great for keen photographers or architecture lovers. It aims to give you a clear idea of the main buildings, sites, churches, museums and panoramas with a small time to enjoy and take in each area but no inside visits except a look at the cathedral of St. Vitus and a stop to see the Changing of the Palace Guard!
After walking through the main courtyards we pass several palaces and walk through Hradcany to the Strahov Monastery. We end the tour with a deserved beer brewed on the spot by the monks for 500 years or of course a non alcoholic drink if preferred! As we walk down to Mala Strana we enjoy a great panorama of the city and river. If time allows we can even cross Charles Bridge.
For wine lovers in summer we can pass through the vineyards at Villa Richter on the descent

He was on time meeting us at Cafe Slavia, had a coffee as we finished lunch and we got on the 22 bus to the top of the hill. He was funny, fascinating, colorful and humorous w/ suggestions about things to see after the tour. He pointed historical points of interest, was knowledgeable about history, at the castle and old town square. Restaurants around the Powder Tower in Old town, tidbits about places to eat and how make the most of our stay. He was great. It was a great intro to a number of sites.
