Unique! - A true insider perspective on art

Have you ever wanted to finally understand all the different art movements? Find out or brush up on how and why they evolved and developed? Become a real "art buff"? In the Louvre we will travel through time and space as the paintings bring to life the great journey of art. We will explore the roots of Western civilisation in antiquity, then continue through the Italian renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque, and Romantics. Of course we will not forget the iconic highlights.
As an artist trained in the techniques of the old masters, I have inside knowledge of the techniques used and will share with you new ways of looking at paintings.
Take away lasting knowledge with your memories.

Audio sets are provided so you can hear me in comfort in the noisy areas.

Meeting outside, we will take the back entrance and skip the line together. We will start with an overview of the history of this magical palace and a look at the undeground remains of the original medieval fortress. On to the splendid Greek and Roman collection including Venus de Milo and Winged Victory of Samothrace then continue through the most famous wing of the museum with works by Botticelli, Raphael, Da Vinci, Delacroix and Géricault and many more.
Of course the itinerary is flexible according to your particular interests.

Note: The Louvre is closed on Tuesdays!

A Recent Review of this tour

In just two hours, Catherine gave us a short course in art history of Western Civilization. Since she is a trained and working artist, she gave us insight into how composition and technique have evolved from the Greeks to the Impressionists. I cannot imagine having a better tour!!!
