a museum of pure rococo style and four unique private palaces in the park
DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS THE PALACE REMAINS CLOSED FOR THE TIME BEING
Nymphenburg, the summer residence of the Wittelsbach dynasty, is located in the West of Munich in a wonderful garden park. Next to the impressive main building there are 4 small private, yet even more intimate and special palaces in the park, waiting to be discovered.
During this tour we will visit the castle, including the Schönheitsgallerie (36 paintings of the most beautiful women of the 19th century) and the Royal bed (where fairy-tale king Ludwig II. was born). Then we will stroll through the Baroque garden with its water fall and fountains and visit tiny Amalienburg, a private bathing palace, a "Chinese" pavilion and a chapel in a grotto. (Please note: the small park palaces are only open during summer time, the main palace, former stable, porcelain exhibiton and park is open throughout the year)
While we ride to and from the castle I will give you a small sightseeing tour of Munich. At Nymphenburg we will visit the castle, carriage museum, park and the private palaces.

Simone was an excellent guide. Her knowledge of the Nymphenburg Palace was amazing. Her knowledge of the art and architecture was vast. Touring the palace with Simone is a must do.
