Tales of history and imagination private day tour

Enjoy a fascinating day tour to Mtskheta, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world. It's the birthplace of and one of the most vibrant centres of Christianity in Georgia. In 2014, it was given the title of Holy City by the Georgian Orthodox Church. During the tour we'll see the 6th-century Jvari Monastery, which stands on the mountain in front of Mtsketa. We'll also visit the 11th-century Svetitskovhoveli complex. The first church was built here in the 6th century. The ruins of the old church are visible in the interior of the cathedral, under glass flooring.

Our final stop will be the ancient rock-hewn town of Uplistsikhe, built from the 5th-9th century BC. There's also a museum where you can see ancient artefacts from all over the world.

A Recent Review of this tour

This tour began with a pick-up at my accommodations. The car was clean, in good condition and comfortable, and the driver (George) was friendly, professional, accommodating and drove safely *Thank you George* Miriami is an outstanding guide both in the way she truly connects with people, and, her formidable historical kowlege and story-telling; she provided a fascinating and captivating connection with the ancient and rich history of this area of Georgia. I was truly fortunate to have Miriami as my guide*
