Atomic Bomb Dome and Miyajima (two World Heritage Sites)
Two of the World Heritage Sites are situated in Hiroshima. We are going to visit both of them.
The Atomic Bomb Dome shows you the tragedy which happened in 1945. We will walk around the Peace Memorial Park to see monuments such as the Tower of One-thousand Paper Cranes and visit the Peace Memorial Museum.
It takes about an hour to go to Miyajima from downtown Hiroshima.
In Miyajima, you can enjoy taking a stroll around the island to see historical buildings: Great Torii (it is now covered up for maintenance) and Itsukushima Shrine standing in the sea.
Wild deer will say hello to you. Be careful. They are very naughty:)
Hiroshima is famous for fresh seafood. You can stop by to pick up grilled oysters or maple-leaf-shaped cakes.
Hope you will thoroughly enjoy yourself experiencing real Hiroshima!

We enjoyed the tour with Rie. All the information was readily available (leaflets, brochures, etc). The coffee shop where she brought us to Miyajima island was superb! The visit to the Hiroshima museum was very informative and heartbreaking! We will definitely book with ToursByLocals and if in Japan, will definitely hire Rie again. Thank you, Rie for making our tour to Hiroshima one of the best tours and a memorable one!
