Although the tour is generally suitable for people with disabilities, there are few locations which can be challenging for people using wheelchair or crutches as it may be necessary to climb several steps in order to reach the entrance. This is the case with the Cathedral and the Church of St Blaise, whereas Sponza palace is more easily accessible, but please note that there are also few steps at the entrance.

Meet the Pearl of Adriatic!

Dubrovnik Essentials Tour is designed for first time visitors or tourists that have a limited time on their disposal. The idea behind this tour is to provide precise insight on the main events that have shaped the rich and turbulent history of Dubrovnik, as well as to assure that the clients don't miss any of the most important locations of this marvellous living museum.

This tour could also be organized during the evening hours, when you can truly feel the spirit of this unique town in its own natural setting, away from the daily crowds.

This private tour could also be organized as a part of an extended tour which can include other attractive locations in Dubrovnik surroundings (the town of Cavtat, the fertile Konavle valley, the Arboretum of Trsteno or the ancient walled town of Ston).

***For more information on extended tour options and additional charges they might incur, please click on the BUTTON 'ASK A QUESTION'.

As much as my aim is to cover all the main attractions, the itinerary and the pace of the tour would largely depend on the preferences, interests and wishes of the clients.

Possible itinerary: we can start the tour at the Pile Gate, move on to the Large Onofrio's Fountain (15 ct) and Franciscan Monastery (14 ct), where we'll have a sneak peek of the longest running pharmacy in Europe. We continue through the main street Stradun all the way to Luza Square for a photo break of two symbols of Dubrovnik's liberty: the Orlando's column (15 ct) and the Church of St Blaise (18 ct). We will proceed through the old Jewish Quarter (16 ct) and then visit the memorial room in Sponza palace (16 ct). After that we will stop by the Dominican Monastery (14 ct) and go through the medieval port of Dubrovnik to visit the Dubrovnik Cathedral (18 ct). We will have a photo stop at the Rector's Palace (15 ct) and finish the tour at the lively local marketplace where you can sample some of the traditional home-made sweets.

A Recent Review of this tour

We just had a tour of the old town of Dubrovnik with Tom and can not say enough great things about it. We were a family of 5 with 2 teens and an 11 year old. Our tour was like walking with a virtual history textbook. Tom knew every historical fact and story and was able to make the city come alive with history. We heard about not only ancient history, but also the history of modern times. I would HIGHLY recommend a tour with Tom. You will not be disappointed.
