Art Private Guided Tour
The Fundació Joan Miró was created by Miró himself. Is located in a building designed by Josep Lluís Sert, making it one of the few museums anywhere in the world in which the complicity between artist and architect underpins the dialogue between the works and the space that houses them.
Miró was born to reasonably well-off parents in the old town of Barcelona in 1893, 12 years after Picasso and 11 before Dali.
For such a wildly imaginative, radical artist he had a quite life. He had a very happy, stable marriage. He was extremely organised. He wasn't known as a big drinker or party animal. In photographs he has no Picasso or Dali-like swagger.
But it is his art that makes Miró the titan that he is.
We will visit the Miró Foundation and after that, we will visit the Picasso Museum. Barcelona was very important in Picasso's life. Pablo Picasso arrived to Barcelona at the age of 14 and spent most of his childhood and his teenage years here.
