Visit a 10th Century Estate, Soller and Deià
This is one of my favorite excursions and a favorite with guests since we visit one of the most beautiful spots on Mallorca. Leaving Palma behind we will head north to visit an ancient estate of Arab origin which gives us an excellent idea of how a rural farm was run in the 10th century. On to Soller, a unique Mediterranean town with French influences. Time to mix with the locals, visit the town shoemaker, taste homemade "sobrasada" and artisan ice cream of locally grown lemons or oranges.
I will accompany you on a drive along the Mediterranean coast to the village of Deià, to this day a magnet for artists. Visit an artist's studio. We'll stop to take photos of magnificent views. On our return, we can stop in the town of Valldemossa, time permitting.
From mid-October to December we have the option to visit an olive oil press to see how the olives are made into liquid gold, enjoy a tasting of extra virgen olive oil and of local products.

Gina was very professional, personable, & informative with the history and development of the area around the Cathedral, an absolutely magnificent place! Then a drive into the countryside to a Vineyard for wine tasting and lunch at an absolutely gorgeous site. We were impressed with the information shared and the passion exhibited by our winery hostess! (My husband has taught wine classes for over 40 yrs). Lunch included local foods: cheeses, meats, breads with 6/7 delicious wines, an excellent day!
