Landing/ Normandy/ June6/ A Day of Remembrance
Since 2013, I have been specializing in Private Guided tours of the D-Day Landing Beaches and the Battle of Normandy. I will be glad to share my knowledge about the most impressive naval campaign. With me you'll discover the carnage unleashed here in Normandy on 6 June 1944.
I'll show you where General Norman Cota took the commandent on Omaha. You'll see the scenes from the movie "The Longest Day". You will hear the real story of "Saving Private Ryan"
For my clients I am trying to show as much as I can ( the original weapons, the German defensive areas) adding personal stories, anecdotes and trying to make this day an unforgettable experience.
Normally, one museum is visited during the tour and the entrance fee generally costs from 6 to 10 euros per person. Lunch is as you like, bring or buy sandwiches. You can choose: some light cooked lunch in a cafe or you can enjoy the 4 course lunch in a 5 star restaurant, you just need to say on the day. . .
1st Day, American sites:
*Utah+Saint Mére Eglise (Utah is the westernmost of the D-Day beaches where June 6, thousands of U. S. paratroopers were dropped inland behind enemy lines)
*La Pointe du Hoc / Omaha (Surrounded by steep cliffs and heavily defended, Omaha was the bloodiest of the D-Day beaches, with roughly 4, 600 U. S. troops turning up dead, wounded or missing. )
*American Cemetery (The most powerful, the most humbling site, the Normandy American Cemetery has 9, 387 burials of US service men and women overlooking Omaha beach. . . )
2nd Day, British+Canadian sites:
*Arromanches, Mulberry B (the Artificial Harbor).
*Longues sur Mer (the German coastal battery where we still can see the ORIGINAL guns of WW2)
*Juno+Sword+ Pegasus Bridge (Around midnight, British airborne troops were dropped behind enemy lines to secure the invasion's eastern flank, just as the Americans at Utah)

Svetlana provided a wonderful 2 day tour of the D-Day beaches in Normandy. The tour was well planned and coordinated over the two days. She is extremely knowledgeable, not only of the battle details but also the finer points of what happened in the nearby towns during the invasion, the impact on local villages, etc. This was a "bucket list" item and she did a wonderful job of allowing us to check this off the bucket list!!
