7-HOUR FLEXIBLE TOUR: Munich + Andechs, Allianz Arena, Bavarian Lakes, Bad Tölz or Dachau & 3rd Reich with a private guide
This is a totally flexible tour to give you an in-depth impression of both Munich and Bavaria. You get to know the city and get a flavor of the charming countryside nearby.
On the standard city tour we cover the history of Munich from its medieval roots to the 19th century age of kings through the darker 3rd Reich period up to the modern day and BMW.
The most common destinations outside Munich are Andechs, the famous monastery brewery, Schleissheim Palace, the glacial lakes south of Munich (Starnberg or Ammer Lake), Bad Tölz and Lake Tegernsee or the brewery restaurant at Aying.
If your family wants to see the city of Munich and visit the Allianz Arena, home of the FC Bayern football club, this is the tour to book.
This tour is also perfect for combining a 3rd Reich tour of Munich with a visit to the Dachau Memorial Site.
Base price may be more for larger groups (larger vehicle).
The itinerary is very flexible. We normally start with the city tour first then move out to the countryside, but this can be reversed, for example, if you require an airport pick up. This tour is usually 60% Munich, 40% surroundings, but this can be adjusted according to your wishes.
I never do the tour the same way twice, so here is a list of some of the highlights of the city you may see on this tour:
Königsplatz (King's Square)
Walking zones (shopping streets)
Bavarian Parliament Building
Isartor Old City Gate
Here are some of the more popular destinations near Munich:
Dachau Memorial Site
Andechs Monastery Brewery
Ayinger Brewery Restaurant

Had a fun, productive day with Kevin, saw BMW World and Schleissheim Palace which was a "hidden" gem. Drove by some landmarks and when I told him of all the Christmas markets my wheelchair-bound husband and I had been to on this vacation, he took us to Tollwood (a winter market I had read about before, but was not sure if we should go to). We very much enjoyed that part of the tour as Kevin helped navigate the huge market area! I probably would have gotten lost on my own, lol. Thanks a lot! :)
