A lesser-known Tuscan jewel well worth the trip.

This tour is a basic walking tour through the city of Arezzo, a short 58 km drive or train ride from Firenze.

Famed Italian poet Carducci wrote that Arezzo by herself was sufficient to make the whole of Italy proud of her past glory. This city and its surrounding countryside have been in fact home to incredible personalities of the past such as Gaius Cilnius Maecenas, Guido Monaco, Petrarch, Piero della Francesca, Michelangelo, and Giorgio Vasari among others.

You will get a chance to visit the surviving house of a late-Renaissance intellectual and artist and visit one of the most meaningful paintings of art history.

Different points of interest may be mixed and matched to fit your own personal interest and time-table, keeping in mind that Arezzo has been growing vigorously in the past few years as a favorite spot for international visitors, a good alternative to overcrowded Firenze or Pisa.

Wine-tasting and aperitivo breaks if you so wish will make this tour particularly appealing.
