Visit to Golden Pavilion, Nijyo Castle, Silver Pavilion, Kiyomizu temple, Fushimi-inari shrine and Gion.
For tourists who want to visit as many major sites in Kyoto as possible, with a more secured room than a public transportation, moving by an arranged jumbo taxi is the best idea. You can save waiting time for a bus or a subway, and can enjoy discussion as well as Q&A, sharing information provided by a guide. With this arrangement, you can visit 5 major sites, i. e. Golden Pavilion, Nijyo castle, and other interesting sites for 8. 5 hours duration. A jumbo taxi (a van) with the capacity of 9 passengers (including a guide) can be arranged with 5 days prior notice given to me to the tour . (During high seasons, i. e. March, April, May, October and November, 30 days prior notice to the tour may be necessary. ) The payment to a driver shall be made in a local currency, when we leave the taxi at the end of the tour. Please note that the cost of a jumbo taxi is not included in the Tour Price of $300, but in your Estimated Local Cash.
The model itinerary: Meet up at your hotel or Kyoto station at 8:30 - After buying some snacks & drinks, and cashing, taking an arranged private van - Nijyo castle (9:00-10:15) - Golden Pavilion (10:30 to 11:15) - lunch ( 11：30 to 12：15) - Ryoanji temple (12:30 -13:15) - Heianjingu shrine (13：45 to 14：00 ) - Gion district ( 14：15 to 14：30 ) - Higashiyama ( Sannenzaka/Ninenzaka/Yasaka 5 storied pagoda ( 15：00 to 15：45 ) - Fushim-inari shrine (16:00- 16:30) - See you off at your hotel or Kyoto station at 17:00. On your lunch, you can have an ordinary citizen's lunch at my favorite restaurant or a snack lunch inside a van during the transit. Though the above model is an ideal itinerary, I can customize it according to your requests.

To be honest I had high expectations for Ken based on previous reviews, yet he exceeded them. He was incredibly friendly and accommodating with our large group. It was clear how much he cared about his hometown of Kyoto through his ability to explain its history and culture with humor and sincerity - we could listen to him speak all day! He went above and beyond to optimize our itinerary and see all the big sites, even dropping us off at Kiyomizu-dera at the last minute. Thank you so much, Ken!
