Since "the Wall" is gone, Welcome to the Pleasure Grounds!
The legendary cold war "Bridge of Spies" is today the road connection between Berlin and Potsdam. The small village and his neighbor palace with his English pleasure ground, named GLIENICKE, thats the name giver of this well known Bridge. Here, between former Berlin-West US-Sector and the Soviet Garison city Potsdam, there is now live, pleasure, happiness. UNESCO world cultural heritage. Along the last traces of the former Wall, which has divided East from West, we can nowadays flandering through English park landscapes, like Lords and Queens in the 19th cent. We start at the summer lodge Glienicke with his historic English Pleasure Ground. It was used by Prince Carl and his Lady Maria since 1824. Then we slender through the former divided small village Glienicke, entering on the other end the big park of palace BABELSBERG. After a hundred years in oblivion. It was the Residence of Emperor Wilhelm I. . Forget about Sanssouci. This here, that's even better than the real thing. . . . .
We start from the meeting point, like your hotel, and then we tour by public trains and busses to the southern end of Berlin. Here we have a visit of the "Bridge of spies" on the river Havel with her prominent history. Then we walk into the pleasure ground of Glienicke Summer lodge, with a wonderfull view to the lake site and several -leisurement places-. Afterwards we walk through small village Glienicke, with a lot of info spots about the time when the Wall was splitting the community. Over a bridge upwards we slender in the great park of palace Babelsberg. At the Palace entry we have a look from above to the legendary bridge. Some pleasure ground spots we will visit, followed by an excursion into the park to some sightseeing points and buildings. Including the -Black Sea-. Downwards we walk along the riverside back to Glienicke. There are some Restaurants for a brake, before we return back. Potsdam is enclosed by historic parks and palaces. They are all owned by the Prussian Gardens and Palaces Assoc.

Might variate by train and bus connection. From inner Berlin to the south west end. At least there is only one bus line runnin from Wannsee train station.
Public transport.S-Bahn or DB, followed by line bus. An ABC day ticket is best.
