If you like to steer clear of the major tourist centers yet see something of significance, this is the tour for you. My Off-the-Beaten-Path tours take you to charming places with historical importance. It is a relaxing day trip at a comfortable pace. The tour is very flexible to suit your interests.
There are more or less five version of the trip to choose from, and some can be mixed and matched, such as Regensburg and the Danube Narrows or a River Cruise Transfer with Altötting and Burghausen. You will find details of the destinations in the "Itinerary" section.
This tour is also perfect for family heritage research or special interest destinations, whether for work or for hobby interests. I would be very happy to design a custom itinerary for you!
Base price may be more for larger groups (larger vehicle).
REGENSBURG: A wonderfully preserved city center that was left unscathed by WWII gives this city a special charm. An important city of the Holy Roman Empire. Regensburg has Bavaria's finest Gothic cathedral and most famous sausage house.
DANUBE NARROWS: My most popular off-the-beaten-path tour. We visit a castle with a falconry show, see a monument to the defeat of Napoleon, take a boat ride through the Danube Narrows and have a beer at the world's oldest monastery brewery.
PASSAU: The 3-rivers town is full of charm and culture. I also offer sightseeing transfers to/from Munich for River Cruise passengers.
BURGHAUSEN & ALTÖTTING: We visit the longest castle in Europe and Germany's holiest shrine. Burghausen Castle is perched majestically over river and town. Peaceful Altötting has a cathedral, a basilica and a chapel shrine!
BAVARIAN ABBEY BEER TRAIL: We visit three current or former monastery breweries, take the Danube Narrows boat ride and visit the hops museum.

This was a wonderful trip. We took our two grandchildren, aged 7 and 11. They loved the Falcon show, which allowed them to see these birds of prey up close. My grandson stood for 1/2 hour trying to get a picture of an eagle with his wings spread. The show was amazing as the birds fly right over your head. What a treat for kids that love animals and nature. We had a wonderful lunch with German food so they could experience a different culture and foods. A trip down the Danube by boat ended our day.
