Suzhou ancient garden and over 300 years old Watertown
Enjoy the back garden of Shanghai on this 9-hour private tour of Suzhou and Tongli Water Village. Experience the primitive beauty of the Tongli Water Village and indulge yourself in a traditional Chinese lunch. Visit the Lingering Garden, one of the famous classic gardens of Suzhou and a local silk factory afterwards. At the end of your trip your driver will send you back to your hotel in Shanghai.
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby at 8:30 am. Our driver will take you all the way to the Tongli Water Village. Tongli Water Village is famous for its various canals and the whole village remains the features of the ancient Wu region town.
After tongli you will have a lunch time featuring the Suzhou cuisine. Try some unique dish such as "secret pork belly, crispy duck, lotus root with honey, etc.
Start your tour in the afternoon by visiting Pingjiang Rd, whose original layout dated back to 1200 years ago. There you will see the featuring houses with white washed walls and black tiles and a canal running all along the street.
Continue your tour to the Lingering Garden which was also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy this marvelous view by strolling the pathways.
Following your tour you will see a silk factory where you will find different processes of making silk: silk reeling, weaving, and finally the silk quilt making. Little by little you will witness beautiful silk cloth coming into being.
