A rich history of archeology, Vicking legacy & immense beauty!
Starting the tour from Kirkwall or your address, we head to the Orkney Fossil & Heritage Centre where we step back in time 350 million years to explore some of the locations we'll be visiting.
With information about crofting life and wartime Orkney you can learn about the islands more recent past before we experience it for ourselves, crossing the Churchill barriers on our way to the Italian Chapel.
From here we head for Unstan Chambered Cairn, the Standing Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar. The sheer size and endurance of these structures never fails to impress.
Skara Brae awaits - a neolithic village which lay untouched beneath sand dunes for thousands of years before being unearthed during a storm in 1850. Can you work out why the inhabitants left?
Next, the Broch of Gurness is an impressive structure and the site of a sizeable village which you can walk around and learn what the excavations have taught us before we finish off our tour with a "wee dram" at the Highland Park Distillery.
