Ston Highlights with Oyster Farm Boat Trip & Wine Tasting
I created this tour for all the wine lovers and for everyone who enjoys seafood, olive oil and Mediterranean cuisine in general. The tour starts with a scenic drive to Little Ston where we have the option to visit an oyster farm owned by a local family. We will take their boat and explore a phenomenon which is the Bay of Little Ston. Both oysters and mussels will be taken out of the sea for us to try with a glass of white wine.
Our tour continues in Ston with a panoramic stop to see the second longest walls after the Walls of China built to protect Ston and it's saltworks still opened today. I also have a restaurant recommendation before heading to a family owned winery.
We will then have a wine tasting in a small village close to Ston and learn all about the family's tradition and wine making in general. They will also provide us with some cheese, bread and olive oil for the wine tasting. We will finish our tour back in Dubrovnik and you can be dropped off wherever is more convenient for you.
This tour is a real wine lover's road trip from Dubrovnik to Peljesac peninsula known as the ''Wine paradise''. Before stopping in Little Ston we will have a nice view of Elafiti islands. Just before the Bosnian territory we will turn left to Little Ston.
If you're a fan of oysters and mussels I would suggest a 1h tasting which includes a boat trip to a local family's oyster farm. We will learn just how much work is involved in oyster farming. One of the family members will take the oysters and mussels straight from the sea for us to try with a glass of wine.
Our tour continues with a visit to Ston and it's fascinating walls - second longest walls after the Chinese wall. Lunch is optional in one of their famous restaurants where even the locals go.
Wine tasting is next, in a small village called Potomje. Mr. Vukas will tell us all about their family business and we will try their awarded wines and liquors with their family made cheese and olive oil. Driving back to Dubrovnik will take around an hour.
