Best way to explore St. Petersburg! City highlights+visits to Peter&Paul Fortress & Church on Spilled Blood
St. Petersburg is the most European city in Russia and the most Russian city in the country known for its beauty, fascinating history and special romantic atmosphere.
If you only have a couple of hours in St. Petersburg or wish to explore the city on your own but wish to have an in-depth overview and ideas of how to build your further routes, then this tour is what you are looking for!
Driving and walking through historical centre lets you breathe its special air and fall in love with this very classy yet mystical city, where the Romanovs lived and ruled for over 200 years, Dostoevsky created his world-famous Crime and Punishment and Tchaikovsky wrote music for the Swan Lake Ballet; the city where once in the 1917 Revolution started the whole new era of Russian history, the city where during the years of WWII people starved for 900 days and 900 nights surrounded by Nazis and still never gave it up. Because nobody who had ever come to St. Petersburg and stayed there could ever give it up.
We will be cruising around the city center on a type of transport that fits best the size of the group. During the tour it will be possible to make a stop for a coffee break/WC/and souvenir shopping upon request. We will visit Peter and Paul Fortress and the Church of OUr Savior on Spilled Blood. We will be making photo stops at the most picturesque sites and those that require furhter exporing on foot.
The sites that are included in this tour (that we will pass by and where we will make photo stops):
-Nevsky prospect (the main street of St. Petersburg)
-The Spit of Vasilievsky Island with the View to the Hermitage museum
-Peter & Paul Fortress
-The Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood
-St. Isaac Cathedral
-St. Nicolas Naval Cathedral

Estimated Local Cash Needed
1 ruble - This tour does not need any Russian cash. Most of the expenses you might possibly carry (souveniers or food) can be paid with credit card.
1) We usually go inside St. Nicolas Naval Cathedral - a beautiful Russian Orthodox church of 18th century
2) Sometimes we get on board of Aurora Cruiser (but this very much depends on the traffic in the city).
3) You definitely need you photo camera to make good pictures. 4) And I would recommend you to carry your umbrella with you in case if they promise rain.
5) As for the restrooms during the tour - you might need small cash to pay for lavatory, but we usually make a quick 5-10 minutes stop to use facilities and get some tea/coffee at some friendly souvenir shop. Then restrooms and coffee is free, and you will need to use your credit cards or cash only if you would like to buy souvenirs.
