Private tour: full history of the Diocletian's palace
You still think the lifestyle of Romans matches Hollywood movie production?!? Wrong :)
Let me bring to a life for you this ancient palace of our predecessors built in 305. AD.
As a Historian I'm not really interested in . . "on your left hand side. . . ", " . . on your right hand side. . "trivial visible facts. Let's explore together all the plots and intrigues. Join me for a funny time machine joyride where we will walk not only through the ancient palace, but through all the centuries until nowadays.
If you are curious with a good sense of humor. . . than this is a tour for you, the one that you won't regret nor forget.
This is a typical walking tour that lasts 3 hrs. First you'll visit the subterranean part of the palace and then we'll stroll trough medieval city inside the ancient palace.
Coffee or a snack break of 30 minutes whenever you desire.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: usually we meet next to the bronze city model on the waterfront before the palace.
End location: at the same place we start the tour
Duration: 3 hours
- My time and service as your private guide.
- 3 hrs walking through the old town that includes the all public areas in the palace.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
150 Kuna - you'll need around 20 Euros in local currency per person for all the entrances, coffee, water or some other drinks ...
The entrances (that are after my humble opinion mandatory) :
- subterranean (basements of the palace) 42.00 kunas per person
- Cathedral + Jupiter's temple 25.00 kunas per person
total: 67.00 kunas per person
St. Martin church 5.00 kunas per person
I am a licensed guide, and have no restrictions.

Excellent tour of Split. Dino really knows the history of the region which gives his tour far more contextual relevance than just a regurgitation of palace facts. He also blends in his exotic brand of humour which I found very funny! I highly recommend Dino.
