Waterfalls, glaciers, volcanos and black beaches
In some people's opinion the South Coast has the most stunning and awe inspiring landscapes in Iceland. The largest glaciers, most famous volcanoes, most dramatic cliffs and beautiful waterfalls. First stop Hveragerði where we'll make a quick stop to buy some food to nibble on during the journey and try out the earthquake simulator situated in the shopping mall. We'll drive through Selfoss and Hella. When reaching Hvolsvöllur I do recommend making a stop at the Lava Center where you can experience a thrilling volcano exhibition, surrounded by many of Iceland's volcanoes f. ex. the famous Eyjafjallajökull. Then we'll enjoy the mesmerizing waterfall of Skógar, walk on the volcanic black sand beach of Reynisfjara and get in close contact with the glacier Sólheimajökull. On our way back to Reykjavik we'll go behind the magical Seljalandsfoss, visit the hidden waterfall Gljúfrabúi and returning to Hvolsvöllur have a lovely meal at Katla restaurant. Satisfied and with a full stomach we'll return to Reykjavik.

Meeting Point + Tour Duration
Meeting Point Options: Rail or Bus Station, Cruise Ship Port, Airport, Hotel, Address or Intersection, Monument/Building
Duration: 10 hours 30 min.
Weather and traffic might have some affect on the duration time, but I always do my best to stick to the time schedule.
I drive a new 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. A well equipped and eco-friendly vehicle.
I can of course, if needed, organize tours for bigger groups which includes renting a bigger vehicle/bus. I do have a licence to drive them.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
10000 Icelandic kronas - This would be covering food and beverages. Bear in mind that in Iceland Credit Cards are welcome.
Optional: Entrance fee to The Lava Centre, exhibition and cinema approx. 3. 200 ISK per person. Duration of spent time at the Centre approx. 1-1, 5 hours.
I am not a licensed glacier guide, so if wanting to go for a "glacier-walk" I would have to hire that kind of service upon request.

Erla is an absolute treasure. My 76 year old mother and I spent a phenomenal day with her, visiting both some big sites and some smaller treasures along the way, and learning first hand about her country's culture - an experience you simply can't have with a big bus tour. She understood our priorities going in and tailored our adventure, even bringing snacks along the way. We laughed, we had meaningful conversation, and we made a new friend. I can't recommend Erla enough. Book her - it's worth every cent.
