Explore the beauty of the Blue Grotto, the Prehistoric treasures and the fishing village Marsaxlokk

Join me on this delightful half day excursion to learn what a typical day would be like for the Maltese people in the south of the island and explore a few of the remaining unspoilt villages through their winding roads and alleys which lead us to a typical Maltese piazza where progress did not leave its mark.

This is one of the most interesting tours in Malta, taking you to Marsaxlokk, the Prehistoric temples of Hagar Qim and the Blue Grotto where you will have the opportunity (weather permitting) to take a boat ride around the various caves surrounding the area.

A complete and interesting trip which one should not miss!

Our tour will start with Marsaxlokk, which is a popular fishing village in the southern-eastern part of Malta. It is a quaint fishing village, characterised by its colourful traditional fishing boats, known as 'il-Luzzu'.

We continue later our tour with a visit to the Blue Grotto, where weather permitting one can do a boat trip around these natural caves (boat trip ticket is not included). One has the opportunity to admire here the whole expanse of the beautiful Mediterranean sea.

We will visit at the end of the tour the Hagar Qim temple, a Unesco World Heritage site. The Megalithic temples in Malta are considered to be the oldest freestanding monuments in the world, older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids.

A Recent Review of this tour

Very nice tour to the south of Malta. Beside visiting highlights like Medina... we learned a lot about Malta's culture, history, and development. We even discussed agriculture, and politics. Marthese was a very competent and pleasant tour guide.
