Sofia and Plovdiv - both rich in history, modern and in the same time with their own unique athmosphere!
We'll meet up at the biggest Orthodox cathedral on the Balkans - St. Alexander Nevski, from where in about 2 and a half hours we'll go walking and take a close look at all the Sofia important historcial sites and buildings - the Cathedral itself, Bulgarian Parliament, The monument of King Liberator, the Russian church, The former Royal Palace, the National Theatre with the Sofia city Gardens, The Bulgarian National Bank, the Presidency, the ruins of Ancient Serdica, the only active mosque dating from 16th century, Sofia city central mineral baths building. at around lunch time - apprx. 1 pm we will head off to Plovdiv, where the Old town will meet us with its interesting mid 19th century manor houses, cobbled-stone streets, the Ancient Roman Theatre, the Roman stadium and the city downtown - the longest pedestrian street in Europe!
