Visit 2 of the oldest megalithic sites in western Europe and the wild Atlantic way surf village of Strandhill.
9:00am - Depart Sligo town or hotel pickup.
9:30am - Hill of Knocknarae and the fairy glen. An enchanted valley to the south of the hill and hear stories of where the fairy people came from and where they are said to live.
11am - Fairy glen to Carrowmore megalithic site for a guided walking tour of the standing stones and portal tombs that date back over 5000 years and hear the fascinating story of the first settlers in Ireland.
12:30pm - Lunch: Shells award winning cafe by the sea in strandhill
1:30 - 2. 15pm - Carrowmore - Carrowkeel tombs
1. 5 hour Walk/storytelling through the landscape of south Sligo. Visit the oldest man made structures on the island of Ireland, the passage tombs of Carrowkeel. Hear the origin myths of the pre-Celtic peoples of Ireland.
4:30pm - Return via Balindoon abbey, a picturesque ruin on Lough Arrow
