Private tour guiding to me is how two parties create memories for each other. So it's not just what you take away from the guide, but also what the guide takes away from you.
I left the corporate world to pursue my love of meeting and hosting people and today I am proud to be a private Singapore guide. I can't wait to show you around my town. I want you to have an outstanding and memorable experience!
My father was a cab driver and I remember him driving the family around after meal outings, telling stories about the places we passed, at times making impromptu stops to buy snacks or stop for a short stroll at a park. Those were great family times. At times, it would just be my father and I on his Vespa, and the same would happen. So you may say I got the bug from my dad. The hosting bug.
In August 2017, I opened my home to strangers when I participated in Singapore's International Festival of Arts (SIFA) under the programme called Open Homes. I shared about growing up in a Malay village and mum shared about her journey as a singer in the 70s. We even sang for the participants. See photo gallery.
I will be delighted to share with you more about the Malay community and our culture. Malay is the national language of Singapore and our national anthem is in Malay. As a matter of fact, I can show you where the composer of our national anthem used to live, not far from where I do now. Chinese, Malays, Indians, Peranakans and Eurasians form the main ethnic groups in Singapore.
I am flexible when it comes to the itinerary meaning I can adjust or tweak it to include other places as long as time permits. We may, or may not need, to omit other places of interests all dependent on the timing.
I am humorous, witty, creative, resourceful and patient. There will never be a dull moment with me. I love seizing moments so if I see or chanced upon something you should experience during our tour, I will find ways to make it happen.
Looking forward to be your guide. Let's create memories together. Carpe diem!
A Recent Review of this guide
We had been to Singapore before but only for a day. We wanted to really explore the city. Our guide, Nurhana did a great job showing us the real Singapore. Having lived there all his life, he gave us an in-depth knowledge of the city and city life. He also made it fun and listened to us as far as what we wanted to see and the pace we wanted to go at. He was one of our best guides ever. We would definitely recommend him as a guide to anyone visiting Singapore.
