History, architecture and deeply rooted traditions
This delightful small city is located on three very steep hills, it's still protected by its medieval walls although it boasts a much older origin. We will not miss the famous shell shaped square, Piazza del Campo: this is the stage where twice a year, in the summer time, the Palio horse race is performed. We will include the church where St. Catherine's relics are kept and the Duomo, considered one of the finest Gothic cathedrals in Italy with unforgettable frescoes in the Piccolomini Library. And as we say, dulcis in fundo, time to taste ricciarelli, our typical almond pastry.

Elisabetta's guidance began long before we even arrived for our tour of Siena. We had a couple of options for the day and time of our tour, and her advice was spot on! We arrived in the mid-afternoon, a few days before the famous Palio horse race. Had we stuck to our original plan of coming mid-morning the next day, it would have been hotter and much more crowded. Instead, we enjoyed a much more relaxed, fun and informative afternoon touring the town and benefiting from Elisabetta's expert knowledge.
