Sibenik is undiscovered gem of Adriatic. A medieval town founded on the mouth of river Krka. By walking through the narrow medieval streets of Sibenik old town, you will feel the soul of this town, like no other town on Mediterranean has. You may feel like you are gone back in 14th, 15th and 16th century. The most famous building in Sibenik is UNESCO listed medieval Cathedral of st. Jacob, amazing stone work of two most important medieval masters and sculptors from 15th century in Dalmatia (Juraj Dalmatinac and Nikola Firentinac). Here, on one of most beautiful square in Dalmatia, close your eyes, go back to the past and listen to the whispers of stonemasons, who spent their entire lives struggling to finish this amazing work of art.
Afterwards, take way to the Krka National Park, 15-20 min by car. Here you will be surprised with another beauty, with beauty of a nature.
Visiting last waterfall on a river, you will walk in the woods, along the river with a dozens cascading waterfall. That's "water GAUDI".
Your will take a walk through Sibenik's narrow streets, leading to attractive squares where you'll find architecture of centuries gone by. Exploring on foot, you will pass the St Francis church with monastery, Theater house, Baroque Orthodox Church, City Hall and you will see cave dedicated to Holy Mary of Lourdes. . .
A visit will be made inside the town's most important monument, the Cathedral of St Jacob.
Shoulders and knees must be covered when entering any religious venues.
Leaving Šibenik, you'll travel a little further inside country to see masterpiece of nature.
Krka National Park is located within the territory of Sibenik-Knin County along the Krka River. Once in the Park, you may enjoy last set of falls, before the river meets the sea. The Skradinski Buk Falls is a form a spectacular multi level cascade over travertine cliffs. The whole area is rich with flora and fauna. Due to strict new preservation laws, this extraordinary area has been kept in its original statE.
