The biggest medieval downtown in Europe
Walk with me through the medieval history of Genoa: few steps around to know something more about a city full of history, connected with the one of the more famous Venice and Pisa and where you can still admire the Gothic Cathedral, the Doge Palace, the old noble families road with gardens, painted facades and beautiful yards, the ancient port from where Christopher Columbus left from
From the main cruise port of Genoa the guests walk (20 minutes) or take the subway (5 minutes) to downtown to visit the main attractions of Genoa: from the Ancient Port and the Aquarium, through the very narrow lanes to the small squares with gorgeous facades, to Via Garibaldi with the "golden" Palazzi of the noble families, to the Cathedral of Saint Laurence, to the Doge Palace. . . After some free time to taste some good focaccia or a coffee or a cappuccino, time to stay in town on your own or subway back to the port
