I was born here and I am still around. I saw Shanghai growing into the big metropole that it is now.
My Personal life:
As I said, my roots are in Shanghai, so I know my way around in here. But in addition to this, I also traveled all over China working as a personal assistant, tour guide or interpreter. In 2014, I was for the first time outside China. I spent 2 months in France and also visited Spain, Portugal, Germany and Belgium. In 2015 I also lived for some months in Paris, before I moved to Macau. In 2017 I returned to Shanghai. As a result of my stay outside China, I have gained some experience in the Western world and therefore I have a good insight and understanding of the differences between Western and Chinese cultures. This insight I use to help foreign visitors to find their way in Shanghai and to cope with cultural differences that are undeniable there.
My work experiences:
Before I started to work as a guide and interpreter, I worked in the sales department of a big German company in Shanghai. I also worked as a secretary for a Marketing Research company. Since 2010 I worked as a personal assistant, tour guide and interpreter.
My offer to you:
People who know me say that I am an honest and reliable person who likes to take care of things. They call me an easy-going person. I like to organize life, but in addition, I am also good at dealing with unexpected situations. It is especially this quality that is very useful in my work for TourByLocals and being a guide and assistant for you. I will help you set up a tailor-made tour according to your wishes. And while you are in China, I help you as a private guide to find your way, so that you do not have to worry but enjoy your holiday or focus on your business.
And finally and very important, I always offer my service with a smile.
A Recent Review of this guide
Jin was great! We were delayed in customs, but she was patient and was right there, easy to locate when we arrived. She navigated is into the heart of the city quickly and efficiently. She showed us the spectacular Bund and catered to our specific requests, considering it was late when we got there. She greeted us in the morning with another brief tour. Then guided us back to the airport. She speaks excellent English and answered our many questions about her country in detail. We learned so much!
