A walking tour of the places familiar to William Shakespeare
On this tour we will explore historic Stratford-upon-Avon and see places familiar to William Shakespeare, including his birthplace, his school and the church where he worshipped and is buried. We will also visit the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre on the banks of the river Avon.
We go into Holy Trinity church to see William Shakespeare's grave and the Foyer of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. We do not go into any other attractions in Stratford. The birthplace and other attractions are within a short walking distance if you wish to visit them at the end of the tour.
During the walking tour we will see the places that Shakespeare knew, starting at his birthplace and working through his life to the place where he was buried. We will then walk along the side of the River Avon and end the tour at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The distance is 1. 3 miles / 2. 1 km.
Depending on your itinerary, we can then walk back to the starting point. The distance from the main car parks is about 1. 8 miles / 3 km.
