The two archaeological highlights of West Sicily in one day
We start our visit of the archaeological area of Segesta with the hill side where once the ancient city was. On the top of the hill we see the recent excavations of the ancient Agora (main square), the ruins of the Norman period (a castle, a church and a mosque) and last but not least the Greek Roman Theatre.
The second part of our Segesta tour is dedicated to the Greek temple from the 5th century b. C. sitting on an isolated hill.
Than we move from Segesta to Selinunte (you have to do this with your own car)
As soon as we arive in Selinunte we can have a short lunch break at Marinella Selinunte close to the beach (not included)
Than we will vist Selinunte, the largest archaeological area of Europe! I will show you the three temple ruins of the Eastern hill side, the Acropolis with Selinunte's oldest temple in honor of god Apollo and part of the former Polis: the main road and foundations of punic houses that are dated to the 4th century b.
