The two archaeological highlights of West Sicily in one day
Meeting point for our tour is the entrance of the archaeological park of Segesta. We start our visit with the hill side where once the ancient city of Segesta was. On the top of the hill we see the recent excavations of the ancient Agora (main square), the ruins of the Norman period (a castle, a church and a mosque) and last but not least the Greek Roman Theatre.
The second part of our Segesta tour is dedicated to the Greek temple from the 5th century b. C. sitting on an isolated hill.

As soon as we arive in Selinunte we can have a short lunch break at Marinella Selinunte close to the beach (not included)

Regina was more than fluent, meaning she communicated perfectly with both us adults and our teenagers who were fully engaged and entranced by what they were hearing and seeing. I was already fairly knowledgeable about the sites we visited but Regina really made the ruins and the rubble come alive. She was well read and provided quotes and illustrations from scholars and archeologists from her well stocked binder. She was happy, smiley, vivacious, and clearly loves people and what she does!
